The Hickory Parks and Recreation Department’s 25th Annual Children’s Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Henry Fork River Regional Recreation Park.
The event is co-sponsored by the Hickory Elks Lodge and Hickory Jaycees with additional support from the Hickory Youth Council.
Over 20,000 eggs will be hidden throughout the park, and hundreds of prizes will be awarded to “hunters” who find specially marked eggs.
The hunt will begin at 10:00 am for two year olds. It will be followed by hunts for 3-4 years old, and 5-6 years old. Children of all ages are invited to come see the Easter Bunny and hunt for the eggs!
Hunters are asked to bring their favorite basket or pail and enjoy a fun filled morning. Families are invited to pack a picnic lunch and stay to enjoy one of Hickory’s favorite parks! The Hickory Fire and Police Departments will be on hand with special exhibits.
A second hunt for children ages 7-12 will be held at 8:15pm. Hunters should bring their flashlights and baskets and join the fun for this exciting nighttime hunt.
