Hickory NC Railroad Expo

The local Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society will host the 10th Annual North Carolina Railroad Expo.

The show will be held Saturday, April 14, 2012 at the Hickory Metro Center adjacent to Exit 125 and Interstate 40. Approximately 250 tables full of railroad lanterns, timetables, books, and models of all scales will be available. The railroad expo will last from 9am until 4pm. Admission is free for children and $5.00 for everyone over twelve.

Some new features of this year’s show will include the display of detailed plans of the newly-announced Southeastern Narrow Gauge & Shortline Museum at the Newton depot. Also, several family passes to Tweetsie Railroad will be given away.

ALL proceeds from this show will go towards the restoration of ET & WNC #1, a vintage narrow gauge railbus that ran from Johnson City, TN to Boone, NC.
