Hickory NC Carolina Cycle Challenge 2014

Hickory NC Carolina Cycle Challenge 2014

Hickory NC Carolina Cycle Challenge 2014 at 9 am on October 5, 2014.

The Carolina Cycle Challenge is the area’s premiere fun ride to benefit the fight against pediatric cancer. Taking over from Brett’s Ride, the CCC is powered by the Rotary Clubs of the Catawba Valley and last year donated $50,000 (which was matched by the generous help of the Leon Levine Foundation) to the Levine Children’s Hospital.

At 10, 32 and 55 miles (plus the Tot Zone for the little ones), there is a ride for every skill level!

Pre-ride festivities begin at 8:30. Packet pick-up is at the YMCA, Saturday, October 4th (Saturday)  Noon – 5 PM, and October 5th (Sunday) 7 to 8:30 am before the race.
Parking is available at Frye Regional Medical Center two blocks south of the Y.
Be sure to stay for the After-Ride party!

THE CCC 55 MILER

New for 2014, the 55 mile route offers challenges for the experienced rider, a healthy Category 5 rise toward the end, and a finish back at the start line in Hickory. NOTE: There is a four-hour cutoff for this ride.

The same solid route as previous years, heading south from Hickory and returning to the Foundation YMCA.

THE CCC 10 MILER

A nice cruise through Hickory proper. Great for beginners and for families with riders working on their endurance.

This is a great way for families with young kids to get into the spirit of the CCC. Bring your kids and their scooters, strollers and bikes with training wheels to the Hickory Foundation YMCA and take a lap or two on the running track. Helmets are required.

Who needs to ride to have fun?

The Kids Zone has bounce houses, ball pits, balloons, face-painting and every manner of way for kids to celebrate the fun of the CCC.

The CCC needs your help for registration, course marshalls, rest stop aides and many other essential tasks. Groups that participate, such as schools or scout troops, can qualify for cash awards! To ask about specific volunteer opportunites, click here.
