The Hickory Public Library Game Truck is basically a party on wheels for video game fans. Patrick Beaver Memorial Library will be hosting two 55-minute sessions of gaming fun from 6:30-8:30 pm on Thursday, July 9th, 2015. The first session will be for kids ages 8-11 and the second is for ages 11-17. Game selections will be made at the time of the party.
The video game party for kids and teens is packaged in a self-powered, climate-controlled, 50-foot truck. The truck is filled with flat-screen HDTVs, enhanced sound, and more than three dozen of the latest multiplayer games for X-Box 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii. They even provide a Game Coach to manage fair play.
There are four easy ways to earn a seat on the Game Truck. Simply complete one of four specific activities: draw a 6-panel cartoon, write a poem, draw a superhero or build a model robot out of ordinary household items. Then trade it in at the Hickory Public Library for a free pass to one of the gaming sessions. This is a great chance to try out new games and have loads of fun playing with your friends. Space is limited to 16 kids per session, so pick an activity and get started today.
For siblings and those who don’t earn a Game Truck ticket the library’s meeting room will be open for group play on the PlayStation during the hours of the Game Truck party.
