An art competition/exhibition entitled “Spare Parts” centered around art created from recycled materials will be open for entries beginning Mar. 3, 2016.
Entries will be accepted by anyone over the age of 16. Art can be in any format and all media but must be created in part using materials found from discarded items, leftover pieces of cloth, recycled materials, such as plastic, metal or scrap paper, etc. Submitted two dimensional works cannot exceed 4 feet in any direction, sculptures may be larger but should not take up more than 2 feet of floor space.
Artists can download entry forms from our website at www.fullcirclearts.org or stop by our gallery at 42 B Third St. NW, Hickory. They can also obtain forms at many libraries around Hickory, the Hickory Museum of Art, United Arts Council, Hickory’s Finest framers and also in Conover and Newton.
Registration fee must be paid at time of delivery. Cost for Full Circle Arts exhibiting members: $10, Associate and patron members: $25, Non-members: $35 for up to three entries
Awards are First Prize $300, Second Prize $200, Third Prize $100 and Honorable Mentions will be awarded.
Work may be submitted during gallery hours Thurs. and Fri., March 3 and 4, 11:00am – 5:00pm, or Sat., March 5, 10:00am – 2:00pm. The exhibition will be juried and judged by Dianna Loughlin, Director, Blowing Rock Art and History Museum,
Opening reception for the show will be Thursday, March 17, 6 – 8 pm. The exhibition will on display during Full Circle Arts’ gallery business hours Wed.-Friday 11:00 am – 5:00 pm and Sat.10:00 am – 2:00 pm until April 17, 2016.
