The Hickory Crawdads annual Spring Fling event is back to kick off another baseball season, with the free ballpark party of games, food, and ticket deals scheduled for Saturday, March 12th from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at L.P. Frans Stadium.
Single game tickets for the 2016 season will go on sale at the event, with the ‘Dads offering a special “Degree Discount.” The sale will discount tickets to all of the Crawdads home games in April based on what the ballpark temperature is at 11:00 am. For example if the temperature is 55 degrees, tickets will be discounted by $5.50, reducing the cost of a $9 ticket down to only $3.50.
Fans will also be able to purchase a sweetFrog Claw Club membership at a discounted price of $29 by donating select, non-perishable food items to the Greater Hickory Cooperative Christian Ministry. Food items acceptable to donate include beans (dry or canned), whole grain rice, whole grain pasta, low sugar pasta sauce, low sugar cereals, low sodium soups, low sodium tuna or chicken, and snack pack items.
Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet Silver Slugger memberships will be available for purchase and pickup at the event, while fans will also be able to donate blood to the Community Blood Center of the Carolinas in exchange for a free ticket voucher good for any Crawdads game in April or May.
Other activities at the Spring Fling will include the inflatable bounce house and speed pitch, on-field games, and an arts & crafts table.
Discounted concessions will be on sale as well, including $1 hot dogs and Pepsi products along with free popcorn.
The Crawdads open the season with a friendly exhibition game against Lenoir-Rhyne University on Monday, April 4th, beginning the defense of their South Atlantic League title on the road in Kannapolis on Thursday, April 7th. The ‘Dads home opener will be on Thursday, April 14th against the Intimidators.
