Murray’s Mill A Day in the Life of the 1930’s

Murray’s Mill A Day in the Life of the 1930’s

A Day in the Life of the 1930’s is set for Saturday, March 12th, 2016 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm at Murray’s Mill (1489 Murray’s Mill Rd. Catawba, NC 28609).

Inspired by THE BIG READ 2016 selection, Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird, the Historical Association is teaming up with the Catawba County Library to offer Catawbans a day to explore the past.

The Murray’s Mill Historic District is an ideal place for visitors to see how agriculture, commerce, and family life intertwined in the early twentieth century.

Costumed interpreters will be on hand to describe their clothes and the interior furnishings of extant Murray family dwellings.

The Association encourages visitors to tour the Murray & Minges General Store and stock up on nostalgic merchandise as well as locally crafted goods.

The Association is dedicated to offering the community memorable experiences at historic sites and this event is no exception!
