Western Piedmont Symphony presents Classical Critters

There will be bumblebees, bears, birds and wolves at the SALT Block on Saturday, November 5, 2016! Under the direction of Maestro John Gordon Ross, the award winning Western Piedmont Symphony presents “Classical Critters.” Sponsored by Catawba Valley Medical Center, the first concert will be a Family Concert at 3 PM in the Drendel Auditorium at the SALT Block.

Bring the kids. Introduce them to the symphony. Let them pet instruments at the instrument petting zoo prior to the concert. Tickets for the abbreviated afternoon concert are $10/adult and $7/children. Don’t be afraid of the classical critters!

The second concert of the day will be Masterworks II at 7:30 PM in the Drendel Auditorium. The Western Piedmont Chamber Orchestra will perform the very familiar “Flight of the Bumblebee” (Rimsky-Korsakov), Symphony #82 in C Major, H 1/82 “The Bear” (Haydn), Tchaikovsky’s “Bluebird Pas-de-Deux, and Prokofiev’s “Peter and the Wolf: A Musical Tale.” WHKY morning show personality, Hal Rowe, will be the narrator for both concerts.

Tickets for Masterworks II range from $22-$42. All tickets are available through Etix.com, or email atinfo@wpsymphony.org, or call Symphony box office at 828.324.8603 from 10am-2pm M-F. Save money and time, buy your tickets in advance.
